Riverside Recreation on The Big Piney River

Our Cedar Mere Riverside is a charming, secluded Ozark campsite located along the banks of Missouri’s scenic Big Piney River near Dixon in Pulaski County, roughly 20 minutes south of Fort Leonard Wood. It offers just two riverside sites—Hobbit Hollow (with water, electric, and sewage hookups) and Crawdaddy Creek (basic with electric hookup)—with two perfectly placed trees for hammock lovers.

• Riverfront Access: Each site has a gorgeous river view, and walk-in access to the Big Piney River, perfect for fishing, swimming, tubing, or just relaxing by the water.

• Comforts and Amenities: Picnic tables, BBQ grills, campfire sites, sinks, and shower, and a small floating device lending station.

• Pet-Friendly & Fires Allowed: Both sites welcome pets and permit campfires,

•  weather permitting. Always check for fire bans during extremely dry conditions.

• Secluded Setting: Rustic gravel roads lead to a private-feeling riverside escape—but with nearby convenience. St. Robert/Dixon (for gas, supplies, lodging) are just 15 minutes away.

The Big Piney River, a 110-mile Ozark Plateau stream provides beautiful scenery and outdoor adventure for everyone. From leisurely floats and paddling to fishing and wildlife watching, it’s a nature lover’s paradise. The region also offers easy access to Roubidoux Springs and Stream, Maramec Springs, Bennett Spring, Ha Ha Tonka, and Lake of the Ozarks State Parks.
